LEADERS READ. THEY ALWAYS HAVE. THE MOST BRAVE AND BOLD AND IMAGINATIVE LEADERSHIP TO TRY TO SAVE THE WORLD IS FOUNDED ON POETRY. THAT’S RIGHT! HERE’S CHAPTER AND VERSE FOR THE CASE FOR POETRY AS THE INEXTRICABLE ELEMENT OF LEADERSHIP’S PERIODIC TABLE. (And what’s love got to do with it? And for that matter, while we are asking, what does Emily Dickinson have to do with it?—You know she does) The physics and chemistry of leadership . . . on which, like a red wheel barrow next to a white chicken in the rain, so much depends . . . .

  1. Yes, poetry is powerful. Mary Oliver’s poem “Wage Peace” is a favorite of mine, as are many of Pablo Neruda’s poems. We have included a poem of yours (Barbara) at the Peace Lantern Ceremony the last two years. We hope that you will be able to attend our 10th Hiroshima-Nagasaki Remembrance Day gathering on August 9th (a Saturday) at Lovers Pt., PG and share another poem and thoughts….Judy K., Monterey
